Mohammed Iyad Al-Shatti
Syrian health professions education leadership
Professor Mohammed Iyad Al-Shatti has been a central figure in shaping medical education in Syria for decades, championing quality standards, transparency, and effective financing across the health professions. He has long argued for a systems-wide approach that connects the Ministries of Health and Higher Education, and brings that long perspective on academic rigour to his keynote on the role of molecular genetics in modern ophthalmic practice.
