ACADEMIA was launched in Dubai in April 2025 as the in-person event of Sinjab Academy, pairing didactic subspecialty days with one-on-one hands-on wet labs in cornea, cataract, and vitreoretina, and a dedicated Techno-Bridge platform that brings industry into the room with the clinicians it serves.

Five Specialty Schools

ACADEMIA Dubai 2025 ran five subspecialty schools across three days, plus didactic workshops on contact-lens fitting, orthoptics, and low-vision aids. Wet labs trained on real human corneas and high-fidelity artificial eyes.

Refractive Surgery School
Full-day subspecialty programme, keratorefractive procedures, screening, complication management.
Dry Eye & Ocular Surface School
Full-day on dry-eye disease, meibomian gland dysfunction, neurotrophic surface disorders.
Vitreoretina School
One-on-one wet-lab mentorship in advanced vitreoretinal techniques.
Cornea School
Hands-on wet labs, DSAEK and DMEK on real human corneas, SBK with the Moria microkeratome.
Cataract School
Step-by-step training from incision through phaco and IOL implantation on high-fidelity artificial eyes.
