Caroline Atef Tawfik

Dr. Tawfik, MD, is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Ain Shams University and a Consultant in Ophthalmic Genetics and Medical Retina. She completed an ICO fellowship in Ophthalmic Genetics at Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich, Germany. She established the first Ophthalmic Genetics Clinic in 2022, serving patients with inherited retinal diseases, hereditary optic neuropathies, and other genetic eye disorders from across Egypt. She is a member of EURETINA, ISCEV, and ISGEDR, with expertise in medical retina, electrophysiology of vision, and genetic eye diseases.
